In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us through wordless groans. And he who searches our hearts knows the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for God’s people in accordance with the will of God.
– Romans 8:26-27 (NIV)
by Dave Whitehead, Senior Pastor, GraceNYC.org
As we have been focusing on prayer, it is good to know that we are never truly alone as we pray. The Holy Spirit is with us, guiding us in ways that are hard to comprehend. This is comforting because we are in many situations where we don’t know how to pray, but God has given us a Helper for those moments. Prayer reminds us of our great need for God while at the same time, it reminds us of His divine provision for us.
