Exodus 33:18 – Then Moses said, “Now show me your glory.”

Then Moses said, “Now show me your glory.”

– Exodus 33:18 (NIV)

Today’s commentary

by Dave Whitehead, Senior Pastor, GraceNYC.org

What a bold prayer! Moses has just caused God to change his mind and not destroy Israel for her rebellion, but that is not enough for Moses. He wants to know God for who he is. We are prone to be content with what God can do for us, but that is not the ultimate goal. God is after a people who want to know him for who he is, not what he does. How about you? Do you find yourself content with God’s blessing, or are you willing to boldly ask to know the One who gives the blessing?
