2 Thessalonians 1:11 – With this in mind, we constantly pray for you, that our God may make you worthy of his calling,

With this in mind, we constantly pray for you, that our God may make you worthy of his calling, and that by his power he may bring to fruition your every desire for goodness and your every deed prompted by faith.

Today’s commentary

by Dave Whitehead, Senior Pastor, GraceNYC.org

Paul’s prayer over the believers of Thessalonica speaks to current believers as well. First we have to understand the good news and respond to God’s goodness, and then we are called to act upon what we know. Is your faith so real that it dictates your actions? This is where the difference between what we have learned and what we actually believe becomes clear. Sometimes we are waiting for God to do something when he has already given us all that we need to act. So what are you waiting for?
