“Lord Almighty, God of Israel, you have revealed this to your servant, saying, ‘I will build a house for you.’ So your servant has found courage to pray this prayer to you.
– 2 Samuel 7:27 (NIV)

David was confident in what God had revealed to him, so he was bold in his prayers to build a temple. This may cause us ask, “That’s fine for David, but how do I know what God wants for me?” That is where the Scripture comes in. The Bible is filled with promises that God intended for us. Finding these promises can change our perspectives about our circumstances as they give us the courage to pray boldly and wait in anticipation for answers from heaven. Ask, seek, and knock, for the promises of God are waiting for you.
